St Swithun’s Merton is a Grade I listed church dating from the 13th and 14th centuries.
The building is in good repair with toilet and kitchen and a warm space for use by smaller groups.
Still renowned for stunning flower arrangements all year round.
The Harvest Festival with lunch is a major all-community event, as is the annual Songs of Praise held close to St Swithun’s Day.
The PCC organises three fundraising events each year.
The Summer Fair takes place in the churchyard (weather permitting) usually in June, the Autumn sale and flower show in October and the Christmas Fair in late November.
These three events add greatly to our annual income and are supported by the villagers.
The Act of Remembrance which takes place in the churchyard in October is well attended by villagers, a veteran and two serving soldiers from Bicester Garrison lay wreaths.
The annual Christmas Eve service is popular with the local families, attendance is usually around ninety.
